Jersey Leash Leaders – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 16/09/2025
By booking any service with Jersey Leash Leaders (“we”, “our”, “us”), you (“the Owner”) agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Health & Vaccinations
- The Owner must ensure their dog is fully up to date with vaccinations, flea and tick treatments, and de-worming.
- The Owner accepts full liability for any illness or harm caused by failure to maintain these treatments.
2. Owner’s Responsibility & Liability
- The Owner accepts full responsibility for any loss, damage or injury caused by their dog while being walked, in day care or during boarding.
- The Owner is financially responsible for any damage to property while their dog is in day care or boarding.
- If the Owner’s dog causes injury to any of our walkers or employees, Jersey Leash Leaders reserves the right to pursue a claim under the Owner’s pet insurance for loss of earnings or related costs. If the dog is not insured, we will seek full compensation directly from the Owner.
- If the Owner’s dog injures another dog while in the care of Jersey Leash Leaders, the Owner is fully liable for all veterinary fees and related costs for the injured dog.
- Jersey Leash Leaders will not be held liable for veterinary fees or third-party claims arising while the dog is in our care.
3. Behaviour & Suitability
- The Owner must fully disclose any behavioural or health issues that could make their dog unsuitable for walking, day care or boarding.
Examples include aggression, antisocial behaviour, incontinence, excessive barking/whining or lack of house training.
- Failure to disclose such issues is deemed a material omission and a fundamental breach of this agreement.
4. Emergencies & Veterinary Care
- We make every effort to contact the Owner in an emergency.
- Owners are encouraged to provide a trusted third-party contact if they may be unreachable.
- We reserve the right to make decisions about the dog’s health, always in the dog’s best interests and on a veterinary surgeon’s advice.
- The Owner is responsible for all veterinary fees incurred while the dog is in our care.
5. Dog Boarding
- We cannot accept dogs that are aggressive towards people or other animals.
- To secure booking dates, a £100 non-refundable deposit (or full payment) is required. All invoices must be paid in full before boarding begins.
- All pets must be up to date with flea and worm treatments, and all dogs must be child- and dog-friendly.
- Any damage to our property caused by the Owner’s pet will be repaired at the Owner’s expense.
- Owners must supply enough food to cover the entire boarding period. If extra food must be purchased, we will provide proof of purchase and the Owner must reimburse the cost.
- All dogs must be fully house trained.
- If veterinary care is required while boarding, the Owner is liable for all costs.
- Owners may provide blankets, toys or other home comforts.
- If you are delayed for pick-up or drop-off, please notify us as soon as possible. Additional fees may apply.
6. Late Payment
- All payments are due at the end of each working week or on the final working day of that week.
- If payment remains overdue more than 48 hours after the deadline, a late payment fee of 15% of the outstanding balance will be added.
- We encourage payment at the time of booking to minimise administration and maximise time with your pets.
7. Bookings
- Dog Walking: Weekly requirements must be emailed or texted to us no later than Friday evening.
- Day Care: Space is limited. Please email or text your request (half-day or full-day) ideally two weeks in advance.
During busy periods we may not be able to accommodate every request but will try to help you find alternatives.
8. Cancellations
- Walking: Cancellations with at least 48 hours’ notice incur no charge.
Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled walk will be charged at the full rate.
- Day Care: A minimum of four days’ notice is required to cancel.
Late cancellations will incur a £10 fee per dog.
Once day care has commenced, full payment remains due.
9. Invoicing
- We use a secure third-party booking app to record and manage customer bookings.
- You will receive your own account to view, amend or cancel bookings and make payments 24/7.
- A £1.50 invoicing fee applies per invoice.
10. Payments
- Payment methods include: the booking app, bank transfer, card machine, or cash.
- Details and set-up will be discussed at the initial meet & greet.
11. Trackers
- For privacy and data protection of all clients, all GPS trackers will be removed from dogs before leaving the Owner’s property.
- While trackers are removed, all dogs will be kept on leads.
- Trackers will be replaced on the dog when they are returned home.
12. Agreement
By making a booking with Jersey Leash Leaders, the Owner confirms they have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
