Hi, I’m Richard — the owner of Jersey Leash Leaders, full-time dog walker, and the person most likely to arrive home covered in mud, fur, and a big smile after a long day with the pack.

Jersey Leash Leaders actually began from simply wanting to help. I saw local pet owners on social media stuck for last-minute care before going away, so I stepped in during my spare time — completely free of charge.

Very quickly the demand grew, the diary filled up, and what started as a small part-time idea became a full-time, family-run business much faster than I ever expected.

These days, I personally lead four group walks every day plus a solo walk, spending my time with an amazing mix of dogs, personalities, and plenty of chaos in the best possible way.

Life with the dogs 🐾

Before starting Jersey Leash Leaders I always had a soft spot for Staffies (I’m a proud Staffie owner myself), but after working with so many incredible breeds, I honestly couldn’t choose a favourite anymore — every single dog I spend my day with brightens it.

Funniest moment?

I walk one dog who loves taking toys into the sea… purely so I have to go and retrieve them. Safe to say the dogs find this much funnier than I do!

Walk locations vary depending on the group, but we make the most of everything Town and the East of the Island has to offer — beaches for space and swimming, countryside for exploring, and cliff paths for proper energy-burning adventures.

Fuel for a busy dog walker ☕

My survival routine is simple:

Coffee in the morning, energy drinks in the afternoon, and tea in the evening.

After a long day? It has to be pasta or curry!

When I’m not out with the dogs, I’m usually watching comedy clips on YouTube or cheering on Liverpool — another passion of mine.

I’m committed to continually improving my knowledge and standards. My current qualifications include:

• IMDT Dog Walkers Canine Body Language
• IMDT Red Flag Behaviours & Canine Emotional Health
• IMDT Professional Dog Walkers Course
• IMDT Managing Multiple Dogs on Walks

I’m also completing further training and assessments, with more qualifications to be added soon.

Hi, I’m Phoebe — the real boss behind Jersey Leash Leaders.

While Richard thinks he’s in charge, I focus on the important work… treat testing, cuddle supervision, and daily zoomie control.

You’ll usually find me supervising walks, posing for photos, or carefully checking the biscuit supply for quality assurance. I’m also often spotted at the end of Floyd’s long line making sure he’s behaving — someone has to keep standards high.

At work, I proudly walk in any weather like a true professional.

Outside of work though… the wind is scary and absolutely not for me 🙂‍↔️

My specialist skills include advanced tail wagging, expert sofa snuggling, emotional support for humans and dogs, and an immediate response to the word treat.

Most importantly, I help make sure every dog feels safe, loved, and part of the family — which is kind of my main job.
